Review on 🐾 Optimized Flap Assembly for Pride Pet Doors by Alexis Hughes

I bought this to replace a sliding glass panel dog door that originally had a Johnson Pet Dor size L2 dog door. The original was clear plastic but discolored and warped over the years, still worked but let in too many bugs and hot or cold air. The unit was a perfect sized replacement but the 3 screw holes on the top of the door were not inserted as on the original resulting in the screws holding the old door in place not being long enough to get through to fit the new door. Not that big of a deal, a trip to the hardware store and for less than $2 I had the screws I needed. The only other issue is that the outer flap has magnets on the inside center of the sides, but the inner flap doesn't have metal points on the sides for those magnets to stick to. I found some steel pieces of the right size and shape to glue with superglue, problem solved. Not sure why they dropped these parts, maybe due to production changes? The door still hung mostly flush without it, but the extra latch is nice. The price is a bit high for what it is but there are no alternatives if you want that special dog door. I am happy with my purchase but still give it only 4 stars out of 5 due to missing metal parts.
