I've been wanting to write a review for a long time, but the latest development (rear camera failure) broke the camel's back. Two stars just because the idea is great - it's nice to have Google Maps/Waze on the mirror as it leaves the phone free for other things. The DVR is also a great feature when you travel a lot. But everything else is a big minus, but first things first. 1) This is a VERY old version of Android. Which doesn't even support voice commands. Therefore, the only way to enter an address is to type it. 2) The hardware is minimalist. Even Waze sometimes crashes due to lack of memory 3) The screen looks very strange and cannot be changed in any way. When I turn on split screen (with both cameras on screen) the rear camera is on the extreme (right) side of the screen, which is just plain wrong. 4) When you switch the dash cam to single camera full screen mode (e.g. to view the rear camera full screen), it doesn't scale properly and you only see the top of the frame (just the sky and treetops behind you), so it's totally useless. 5) It does not remember the settings! Every time I start the car I have to turn on Wi-Fi manually (I use hotspot from my phone) 6) I use it with Wi-Fi because it doesn't work with my TMobile SIM card. 7) While GPS works fine, location recording doesn't always work. I have to force stop and restart the camera app from time to time for it to start recording location data. 8) The remote video access (which is advertised) is terrible. The only way I can see the recorded video is to take the SD card out of this thing and put it in my computer's card reader.9) After less than half a year of use, the rear camera stopped working! Not every time I try to switch it to rear view it says "please insert upside down" so it doesn't show or record a rear view. I checked the cable - it's plugged in, so I'm assuming the rear camera just died. 10) This thing costs $150 to install (maybe you can install it for $100 if you're lucky) so you can't even return it once installed. 11) It is not possible to assign a navigation application to the "Navigation" button in the main menu. It includes Google Maps by default. For example, to run wae, you need to go to "Apps" and run it from there. 12) Absolutely now OS support and updates. 13) I'm sure the list goes on and I forgot some other things. In any case, I really wish someone would make a better version of this device. In the meantime, save your money or spend it on something better. I'm living with the thought of having everything in the mirror (GPS, rear and front view, dashcam, etc.) but the implementation is just horrible at the moment.
