Review on Chefn 27466 StemGem Strawberry Huller by Maria Gray

Quality has deteriorated - change of production?

First of all I would like to say that this is the third purchase I have made. The other two were amazing, wonderful devices that made peeling strawberries into massive amounts of jam a dream come true. They had strong metal pins on a well-balanced spring that allowed giant, sturdy strawberries to be cracked as easily as tiny, overripe gems. The other two were replaced for loss - used daily for 4 months of strawberry season here in California - but NOT replaced for breakage or malfunction, they were solid. IS THIS the latest? I could cry from the loss of quality. What happens to the economy in production? You've ruined a previously great product. This has thin metal pins that flex and warp on tougher supermarket strawberries and a cheap spring system that keeps those pins from opening wide enough to be used on larger berries. Until the manufacturer takes quality control seriously, don't waste your money on this cheap and useless version.
