Safely moves long objects out of the way.
I installed a pair with lots of 2x4 studs in my garage. I then have a pair in my basement (where I've had a few floods due to a broken drain pump). I believe not only wood, but also long UV lamps and exercise equipment will go there. I didn't think they were exceptionally strong at first, but they will certainly withstand what I need.
