After reading some of these negative reviews I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this set. But for half the price of famous dado kits I decided it was worth a try and I'm glad I did. After receiving the kit, I installed 2 outside blades for a 1/4" cut (per the documentation) from American Elm. Wood. The playground was perfect and clean in this very hard wood but a bit smaller. Slightly smaller is fine in my case as a 5mm sheet of poplar plywood fits perfectly in the groove. For a full 1/4" it would take 1 washer. Then I cut a 3/4" nut out of the same wood, 2 outside and 4 chips. This groove was also perfectly formed, slightly torn at the bottom, but it is a groove after all. For plywood, but again requires a full 3/4" washer. All of these cuts were perfectly formed, easy to cut without This is a great set and a great buy, maybe the negative reviews are coming from people who don't get the stacks right install or don't have enough power on their saws (I use a 1980's Craftsman).
