Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic 195/60 R15 88T winter by Micha Puzio ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

Rubber simply struck with its ability to move on snow and ice. This winter, in January-February 2022, the seasonal norm of precipitation fell in 2 weeks. Rows like a tank, like a bulldozer. I drove a passenger car out of a fresh snowdrift up to the bumper. I say - I was driving like on summer asphalt, I just didn’t notice anything. No matter how much he tried to throw it into a skid on the ice (in areas where cars do not drive: various sites, parking lots) - he failed, he pressed on the floor, the speed reached 50 km / h. There was a moment on the track once, on ice and on a snowy pass in the center of the road, I went to overtake, drowned the gas, the car began to hold poorly, let off the gas, the car leveled off, thank God it didn’t fly to the side of the road. The movement is always and everywhere in winter very, very confident and calm. Once, there was also a moment, on bare ice in the evening at a speed of 30-40 km we were trudging in a column in the city, the car in front braked sharply, let someone through, I also quite calmly pressed the brake - I stood behind the car about 5 meters away. They flew into my bumper , the wheels of the car were blocked and stupidly slid. Well, that without much damage. Conclusion: tires for harsh, snowy and icy winters, for places where there are many dangerous descents and ascents in winter. For clean paved roads in large metropolitan areas, such as Hong Kong, it’s probably better not to. The noise is quite strong from them, rather even a rumble. On dry or wet asphalt, it will make a lot of noise, you will have to put up with it. By the way, in one season and about 6-7 thousand kilometers, 1 spike was lost on all 4 tires. I think this is a good result, considering that almost all 5 months, except for half of January and February, I drove them on asphalt.

Pros
  • Reliability, confidence in the tire, cross-country ability.
Cons
  • Noise is the only negative.
