We bought this product for a hike as one of our dogs is unreliable on a leash. After reading many reviews on many similar products, including many situations where the use had mushroomed, we decided to redouble our efforts and form our bond with two of them instead of one. It took us a little longer than usual to do that, but the extra confidence paid off. We've only used it over the weekend so I can't comment on how it will hold up in one place for a long period of time. But for our purposes it worked great. Both racks are firmly dug into the ground. It turns out that one bet would be enough for us. If you buy one, be sure to use a tool like a rubber mallet and not a metal mallet when pounding on it. We used a regular hammer and the metal on metal sound was predictably awful. The green paint on the top also peeled off immediately, giving the pens an instant look of old and potentially rusting over time. The stakes were great for our camping purposes, but I wouldn't recommend this type of pole. for permanent use at home. I'm not saying this because of any flaws in the product, but because the use of chains in general in a dog often results in frustration-related behavior problems, including frustration-aggression. But for short-term use with a non-reactive dog, it works great. Now we store them together with our camping gear.
