I don't know why, but there are many.

I don't know why, but many of these items mention that they are 'temporary'. I've left it in the ground for several months and there is no visible rust on it and the integrity is solid. I have a 45 lb husky and he doesn't move when pulled by the dog. I want the hand strap to be at the top of the item so I can lower it even lower into the ground. The reason for this (along with every other corkscrew like this) is that it becomes something of a nuisance to people. I also wince a little when the…

Highly recommended! good for wire rope and pegs

This is the FIRST wire rope that hasn't snapped! We both have several other ties, but our dog is so strong that he bends every one! Also the others we tried were very difficult to get into our hard and serious dirt. This tie was incredibly easy to install and wouldn't budge no matter how hard it was pulled! I highly recommend! We liked it so much that we immediately bought a second one! Even if you want to remove it, it's actually pretty easy. Just put the prybar under the "bell" and it comes…

even stops a dog chasing a deer

This is by far the best swivel we have ever used. As we sit in our unfenced yard at the end of the day, we tie our rampaging 60-pound beagle mix (rescue dog, of course!) to a pole with a 20-foot tether. The deer family regularly visits our backyard during the day or evening. Our dog notices them ahead of us and charges hard into his 20ft line to chase them. The tie holds up great. (Deer don't usually pay attention to Sasha's barks and fuss, by the way. They just stand there and look at us. They

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Quality

Again I was hesitant to buy this at first because my dog is only a year old but she is VERY strong. I've read other reviews of similar products that either broke when stuck in the ground or a dog pulled them out of the ground. When I received this product I noticed its build quality and that alone gave me some confidence. The "test" came when I pounded it into the ground. At first I expected the blanket to break with every blow of the hammer, but it held up and with each blow I became more…

We use TWO STACKS for backup and security

We bought this product for a hike as one of our dogs is unreliable on a leash. After reading many reviews on many similar products, including many situations where the use had mushroomed, we decided to redouble our efforts and form our bond with two of them instead of one. It took us a little longer than usual to do that, but the extra confidence paid off. We've only used it over the weekend so I can't comment on how it will hold up in one place for a long period of time. But for our purposes…
