I love these sanuk flip flops, in fact I buy 2 pairs a year wearing them only 1/2 a year. Basically I get a season out of a pair but they are cheap enough to replace. They are incredibly light and comfortable. The suade leather sole allows my foot to breath and doesnt get sweaty and smelly like a plastic flip flop does. I've never had them fall apart in any way, in fact I still have all of the pairs in a pile in my closet. The issues is the foam sole support. After about 3 month of supporting a 200lbs gorilla it compresses and a foot groove is worn in providing little shock absorbtion which makes my feet sore. I doubt that there is a material which would not compress over time and remain flexible.I've owned many brands and types of flip flops over the years, some costing $200+ but I keep coming back to these.
