Great camera and features for the price

This is one of several Hosafe cameras that I use at home and at work. Hosafe's customer service has always been excellent and quick to respond. However, this newest and newest camera they offer represents good value for money. Many functions are very attractive, but executing them requires some development. More on that later. When I took it out of the well-packaged box, I was initially surprised to find that the camera is very light, mostly plastic (assuming the UV rays of South Florida don't break down the material like some plastics do in the sun), and easier to install. . While the large cable wrench (usually an RJ-45 LAN connector) that usually protrudes from the bottom of the mounting base, this bundle of cables comes out the side of the base, making managing the cables a bit more difficult if you want to hide them. and secure their connection points. Since the quicker setup of these new cameras doesn't require a hard connection to the router to begin with, I think the RJ 45 connector could be left out, assuming you're only using a Wi-Fi connection, which is actually the reason you're buying a WiFi camera . ! This eliminates the need to drill a ยฝ or larger hole to route these wires. As with the previous three setups, I chose to mount my cameras to an outdoor plastic electrical box to secure the cables and make it easier to attach to the building. But this time, instead of making a big hole in the lid of the box, under the base of the camera, I had to run a wire to the side of the box as shown in the photo. It's a little tricky to protect it from the weather with a grommet. Now for the highlights, an LED light source that turns on when you move is fairly bright and a welcome addition to illuminate your subject and get full color images at night. There's also an audible alarm, but I don't use it for a reason... Motion control sensitivity is adjustable, but even at the lowest settings in the app, it's triggered by the slightest wind movement and even insects at night. So the light goes out a lot (I'm fine) and this alarm will be annoying. The same problem occurs with another interesting function; Tracking the movement of the pan and tilt mechanism. A great feature and, as I said, not very fast for fast-moving objects, but moves too often thanks to highly sensitive motion detection. Also, the range is pretty limited. So if the subject is out of range (about 10 meters), the camera will return "home" and the subject is now no longer visible. Another great feature, but a slight delay when completing a move and a much wider sensitivity setting would be a big improvement on these new features. In general, the picture is very clear and of reasonable resolution. As expected, the night vision (without the LED on) is very good. Wi-Fi with dual antennas is average for me. I only get 60% on the outside side wall about 15 feet along the property (across the house). My other front cameras, which are about half the distance, deliver 100% signal strength with only 1 antenna. Your results may be better as there are many variables that drive Wi-Fi performance from the inside out. Another great feature and main selling point for me is that not only can you use an SD card to capture images and videos, but it is also ONVIF compliant. Use many camera surveillance programs like Blue Iris and others. I'm still experimenting with the camera controls on the Blue Iris as it registers with a 'normal' camera and not all features are available yet. Finally, two-way audio works well and is another great feature for a budget camera. how is it. I would buy this again.
