You get what you pay for
It's just a feeling. Thick felt, easy to cut, little stretch, easy to absorb and retain water. My newly hatched turtle sometimes gets its claws stuck in it, as does my baby bearded dragon, but it wasn't strong enough to hurt them, just annoying. They were both easy to solve. It's fine for a cheap little groundcover, but you get what you pay for here.
