Review on 🚚 Dupli-Color Premium Truck Bed Armor - Sandstorm: BAA2030 by Sean Powers

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy to apply, work outdoors. Looks good but scars (scratches) easily.

I had a plastic truck body liner that reduced the inside length of the body by two inches. I wanted to use the entire length of the bed. Truck body prepped - washed with Simple Green then wiped down with tape, water and TSP to remove wax and scratch it. All the shine is gone. Rear door removed, groomed and camouflaged. I wiped down the truck bed and tailgate with paint thinner and let them dry. Truck disguised to avoid splashing. I mixed the color with a drill and a long mixer. Then we clean the sharp corners and roll the coating. It was pretty easy to do and the roller provided the texture. I waited the recommended time and applied the second coat. Without incident, remove the masking tape and backing paper and let it dry. It looked good. I have a little over a quarter of a can left over for touch ups or repairs. Easy to apply, structure and clean. Aftercare - After 5 days the paint looks good. Anything pulled from above, however, caused the paint to chip or scratch. She brought bushes and small branches from trees to the landfill. When I pulled the brush out, the liner snapped in many places. I pulled the ice box out of bed and took the paint with me. It is not fully cured like a layer of asphalt. I touched up the paint again. Follow-up - After 2 weeks - Varnish looks good. Went fishing and had an ice box in bed again. Finally the paint is solid and won't peel off when an ice box is dragged over it. The paint still scratches slightly. Not the most durable color for bedding.
