These flaps allow me to control which machine is sucked. If you have two machines (and you probably have if you use these) you will need two, one open for the band saw and one closed for the table saw (lathe or planer). They appear to be well made and durable. They have a ledge on the slider to prevent the slider from coming out all the way. They work fine. The only downside I find is that the connecting flanges are about an inch too short on each side. You can connect the hose, but with a slightly longer length it becomes a little easier. Maybe just sophistry here.
