The seams are not sewn on 3 sides

The goal is pretty simple but the seams on 3 sides are not sewn properly. When I first pulled the latch to the open position, the latch broke and the slider came all the way out. I could fix it with plastic glue but I really didn't have to. It was brand new and hasn't survived even one use. This is a process issue and should be easy to resolve online. Too bad I had to correct it after the birth.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • safety

Not just for your workshop!

Firstly I didn't buy these for use in my home workshop (although I'm considering them for a workshop vacuum system). I bought to make it easier to dispense dog food and cat litter from 30 gallon trash cans. Cut a suitable hole in the side wall of the hopper and mount the gate flush with the hopper wall. The edges have been sealed and fixed. No more fiddling with bin lids and kicking up product dust to scoop it out. Very important.

  • Good product for the price

Garbage. on Vacuum Cleaner & Dust Bag Accessories

I very seldom give something a blanket rating of one star. I bought 15 of these in total. I just assembled my dust collection system and THREE of them fell apart during pre-testing. So far I've ONLY used it for testing purposes and haven't used it to actually do any work. Bye. Adhesive or ultrasonic welding of plastic will not hold to the machine even under the weight of just a fitting and flexible hose. These hoses are three to four feet long.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • So far so good

Works on vacuum cleaner and dust collector parts

These flaps allow me to control which machine is sucked. If you have two machines (and you probably have if you use these) you will need two, one open for the band saw and one closed for the table saw (lathe or planer). They appear to be well made and durable. They have a ledge on the slider to prevent the slider from coming out all the way. They work fine. The only downside I find is that the connecting flanges are about an inch too short on each side. You can connect the hose, but with a…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are nuances

Poor quality - good price

I bought six and for the price I would buy again; but they don't seal very well, and the plastic holding the two molds (the parts that don't move) isn't even fused together on most of the ones supplied. Even with the manifold running, you can hear air whistling through these things when it's closed. Hooked up to 4" PVC 40 and with a few turns of duct tape it's in place (not without). If you have a spare roll of duct tape, have a little patience, don't want to spend a ton of money on better…

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Expect it to fail - over half a dozen from me.

I had pretty high hopes for them and installed them in various start and end points on my dust collector. I have 8 double threaded and 4 non-threaded versions of this blast gate that I use throughout my system. I made sure to support them properly - they are firmly attached to wooden supports, properly welded to a 4" pipe which is then securely fastened to prevent any movement (to avoid breaking the seal etc). Silicone seals the seams. on the outside of the explosion-proof door as well as the…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Hard to say

Poor Quality Good Price

I bought six and for the price I would buy again but they seal very poorly and the plastic that the two shapes holding (the bits that don't move) ain't even fused together on most of the ones that came in. Even with the manifold running you can hear air whistling through these things when they're closed. Tape tape around it fits snugly (not without) If you have a spare roll of duct tape, have a little patience, don't want to spend big bucks on the best blast gates, and agree that you'll…

Pros
  • Specifications: Fits dust collector with 4" ID, spigot or vacuum port; 4" Nominal styles 3-61/64" OD and 3-3/4" ID
Cons
  • Not bad

Poor quality, works well when it works but great customer service

I have several of these at my shop and they work great when freshly installed; However, dust accumulates in the shutter area, which prevents it from closing completely, significantly reducing the ability to close the connector, which in turn significantly reduces its effectiveness. Also, one of them fell apart with minimal use, but their customer service was excellent and they said they would send me a replacement for this one. BTW I only gave "suction power" 2 stars given the above but…

Pros
  • Quality: Made from high quality black ABS plastic, this unit is built to last and abrasion resistant - it will stand up to the daily wear and tear of dirt, sawdust and shavings
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works well but leaks over time

a 1300cc nozzle. I made a collector. The plastic on one of them broke so that the sliding shutter simply fell out. I super glued it again and everything was fine. The big problem is that they haven't closed completely for the next 3-4 weeks. I tried removing the stuck dust with a toothpick, but that was too tedious and inefficient. You can see what is happening in the picture. I took one apart to see exactly what was going on. Dust is left behind and the gate does not close fully. If a small…
