I've used a variety of walkie-talkies over the years and have found both very good and very bad. From the start let me say these are great radios. While many radios on the market today are pretty much the same and clones of each other, the SAMCOM FPCN30A is not only reliable, it also has features no other radio has. One feature that makes me the most happy with using this radio is the ease of communicating with each of my SAMCOM radios, even if everyone else is using different channels. The group button on these radios will automatically broadcast your voice to all similar radios programmed on the same frequencies, regardless of what channel they are using. For example, if Group 1 is on Channel 2 and Group 3 is on Channel 8 and the admins are on Channel 12, you can use the handy GROUP button to transmit and everyone in your fleet will hear your message on Channel 12. The assigned group channel, no matter what channel they are using. This function can easily be programmed with any frequencies, channels and subsonic codes. This feature is only found in radios, which often cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. Communication is crystal clear over long distances, depending on the terrain. These radios also offer speech inversion encryption which can be programmed via software and activated in the radio's menu. So you can easily switch between open and encrypted communication. Other simple functions are low or high power, subsonic or digital code and more. I'm still amazed at how well the group call feature works, just like with radios that cost many times the number of these SAMCOM units. These radios can be used at large scale events where up to 19 teams can have their own channels and channel 20 becomes your GROUPS call channel ready to find anyone from any team without changing channels!
