Review on WirthCo 20092 Battery Doctor Isolator by Matthew Maggot

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Excellent battery isolator

Extremely easy installation. Works as advertised. So far very happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I changed the 5 star rating to 3 stars. Well, the honeymoon is over. LAUGH OUT LOUD. The block has been installed for a week and is already behaving strangely. It was really great while running, but now that I've turned the engine off the blue light stays on. Tried pressing the reset button. It did not work. I had to turn off the whole device for the blue light to go out. When I plug it back in, the red light stays on all the time, which is how it should be. I turn on the engine, the blue light comes on. I turn off the engine, the blue light is on. I came back a few hours later and found it was still burning. The only way to force it off is to turn it off. Looks like a bad block. I'll probably return it unless there's some insight WirthCo can share with me. The backup battery IS a rechargeable battery, so it might have something to do with it. If this is the isolator's normal behavior when connected to the AGM, I apologize. I will reset my rating to 5 stars. UPDATE FOR UPDATE: The blue light comes on when the AGM battery is fully charged, which I often have since I also connected it to the solar panel. If the AGM is slightly discharged, the blue light will turn off about a minute after the ignition is turned off. That seems quite normal.
