Excellent battery isolator

Extremely easy installation. Works as advertised. So far very happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I changed the 5 star rating to 3 stars. Well, the honeymoon is over. LAUGH OUT LOUD. The block has been installed for a week and is already behaving strangely. It was really great while running, but now that I've turned the engine off the blue light stays on. Tried pressing the reset button. It did not work. I had to turn off the whole device for the blue light to go out. When I plug it back in, the…

works great - some things to note [updated

I've had an isolator installed for [three years] and it's worked great, no problems. I would like to point out a few things: * It is often said that this voltage relay will switch on the auxiliary battery when the starter battery is "full"; that's not exactly what's going on. According to the manual and my observations, it connects when the starter battery is >= 13.4V. Lead-acid chemicals take several hours to fully charge (100% state of charge). In practice, this means that you start the…

The blue charging indicator did not light up, the goods were returned.

So far no luck launching this device. I have a 1971 VW Bus and need an extra accessory battery that will not drain the starter battery. Installation was simple and followed very easily. My starter battery is 7 months old. As soon as I connected the ground wire from the auxiliary battery to the frame, the red flashing light turned red as instructed. I start the car, but the blue charging light does not come on. I thought well I'll go and see what happens. I found that my starter battery…

I bought this product for our RZR1000 when we installed the winch because I didn't want to run out of power when we needed it most! I've left Polaris power users on a Polaris battery and ALL aftermarkets use our 750CCA battery. All light bars, pens, cameras, etc. that were non-factory. Basically, I wanted two separate systems: factory and aftermarket. The only two places where the systems met were the +12V alternator and the chassis ground. I connected the Battery Doctor according to the…

Blue light keeps flashing

secondary battery voltage 12.5v, main battery 12.9v with engine off. With the motor on the main battery it reads 13.6 on the poles. The dealer states that this is the normal charge voltage for the Toyota Tundra. The blue light on the Battery Doctor starts blinking when I start the truck, indicating that it's charging. The auxiliary battery voltage stays at 12.5 until I press the lock button when the blue light goes out and the auxiliary voltage jumps to 13.1. After a few seconds (maybe 5) the…

Exactly what you need

If you use a second battery, I strongly recommend getting one. You want to hear it, here it is. It's a smart battery disconnect, charger and jump starter in one palm-sized device. Properly installed, you can power the auxiliary battery without affecting the main starter battery. The device stays on in parallel with the main battery for less than a minute between parking the vehicle and turning it on. Therefore, balancing both batteries during that minute will have a small parasitic load. This…

Easy to install and operate.

My VW TDI setup. I bought this machine for two reasons. The first reason is that I have parasitic pull on my starter battery. The second reason I bought this is because I have a lot of accessories and I put in a second battery for towing and accessories. I bought an AGM deep cycle battery for an extra battery. The nice thing is that I can easily find out if it's just my accessory or if it's something that's powered by the ECU and won't turn off. I'm lucky enough to have some wires that were…
