The inner cone on the MT4-MT2 adapter is at least 1/2" smaller. This means the standard length MT2 cone will come out of the ground before it sits in place. The only way to get an adapter to use consists of cutting some off the end of your MT2 cone, this will seat it all the way, but then the back of the MT2 cone won't match the slot on the adapter so you won't separate them with a cone mandrel like you might be able to should save a few bucks more and buy another one.
