Edit: The problem was software related. These Bluetooth 4.0 adapters require additional software to work properly. Windows behaved like plug and play, but it wasn't. After downloading and installing the latest software, they seem to be working fine. I don't like having a bunch of extra software running in the background on my computers, so it still annoys me enough that I don't use these adapters on my PCs, but have installed some on other systems here at work. IT pro, bought 5 of these for office desktop computers. Can't get it to work properly. At first they scanned but saw nothing. Then when I got one to see and pair with the device, it disconnected after just a few seconds and turned off. send her back
