I'm torn on whether I like it or not. My transport broke so I wanted something cheap to straighten the fence post. The two outermost pillars were 100 feet apart. With the help of this device I drove stakes into the ground and placed spirit levels on them. However, with a black hose, the water level will constantly rise as the hose heats up. So I went back and forth on both sides until everything calmed down. After that was done and driven into the ground, I found that 100 feet was too far to use rope to level another post. So I repeated what I had done to center the post, but this time it was a struggle for the sequential read. Not sure of the end result, bought a new Transit and tested three posts. From the first to the third post, 100 feet apart, they deviate by 1/4 inch. This was my transit's reported error, so I think it's great. First to second post 50 feet apart, 3/8 inch lower. Disappointed but no big deal for a fence.
