I am a computer scientist in a small company. I have had this device since November 2017. I bought this product to back up my data and to help laptops migrate to SSD. The problem is that this only works for me about 1/3 of the time. I end up going back to my old hard drive case to get the job done. Sometimes the power light comes on (the drive is powered on) and sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time Windows 10 and 7 report an I/O error and don't recognize the device (so it recognizes the hard drive). ). I've used new SSDs (Samsung 512, 256, 128) and standard 7200RPM drives with the same result. While it's not completely useless (it works 33% of the time), it's not reliable enough for me to use only for service calls or even to be my "counterpart" at the bank. I keep trying as it is USB 3.0 and my backup is 2.0. I don't have a skin in your game, but in my view my device is generally unreliable and unless you have a "backup" solution in case it doesn't work I would keep looking. I bought this product based on the 4.5 star rating and over 3,000 replies. I think I have a lemon?
