Cheaply made and inconsistent diameter

I make bookshelves using a CNC machine to drill evenly sized, evenly spaced holes for shelf pins. I recently ordered these 5mm pins for a large project and was pleased with the price and the chrome finish. However, when I started (trying) to insert them into the holes, I found that almost every pin was deformed at the "working end" and needed to be cut with a disc sander to fit. Obviously, these pins are cut, not cut, and as a result of deformation, the end becomes oval, not round. Keep searching!
