Every time you move shelves it seems like we lose some pins/pens. As long as your old pens are 5mm thick, a pack of these durable pens will solve your problems. I think they are stronger than the original plastic pins that came with the shelves.

my parents bought them because our shitty office workers didn't give us anything. Until they break and break. Looks pretty unremarkable. Our shelves probably hold 100 pounds of books and they didn't damage the cabinet at all. It came pretty quickly. I "endorse" this product.

For reference I got 121 of them. I leave open the possibility that I miscalculated, but I certainly wasn't short-circuited like some of the other reviewers. They seem to work well - I have several brands and styles of shelves and the pens match the ones I bought perfectly. Tried so far (one from IKEA, one from Target). Definitely a win.

The pins are fine except at the end which should be 5mm long. There is a 5.03mm bulge at the end that prevents it from going into the 5mm hole in the aluminum that is my first aid kit. If I drill a hole to accommodate a 5.03mm diameter lug, the pin will come loose as the shank size is 4.9mm. If you use them on wood or plastic they will probably work.

Great quality and I got exactly 120 pins as advertised unlike some other unlucky ones. I make cabinets to order and used to buy shelf pins locally, but recently I've had to look for a new source. I decided to try these and I'm very happy. They are similar to the ones I've bought before and I will definitely buy more when I need them. I make bookshelves using a CNC machine to drill evenly sized, evenly spaced holes for shelf pins. I recently ordered these 5mm pins for a large project and was pleased with the price and the chrome finish. However, when I started (trying) to insert them into the holes, I found that almost every pin was deformed at the "working end" and needed to be cut with a disc sander to fit.
