Just over 5mm

The pins are fine except at the end which should be 5mm long. There is a 5.03mm bulge at the end that prevents it from going into the 5mm hole in the aluminum that is my first aid kit. If I drill a hole to accommodate a 5.03mm diameter lug, the pin will come loose as the shank size is 4.9mm. If you use them on wood or plastic they will probably work.
