I have a 4 month old lab puppy who inhales her food. This definitely slowed her down at first. Once she figured out how to get the food out she is now much quicker. I would say not as fast getting her food out as as a regular bowl. Maybe a larger bowl will have deeper division. I ordered the pink bowl and it is not pink at all. The color is more coral to almost orange. It also does not stay in one place when she eats. She can definitely nose it around. She is served one cup in the bowl and it fills it up. There is no "suction power" to this at all.
