Review on 🔧 Optimized Kool Stop MTB Mountain Bike Brake Pads by Redfish Rosenhoover

I use Kool Stop Salmon pads on all my bikes and I often get good reviews from my customers (I have a small shop next door). I use these exact same pads on my Home Grown Team mountain bike with 26" rims and Shimano XT V-brakes and on my Bachetta Corsa recumbent with 650c rims and high quality X-Eyed calipers. I have also mounted them on several other road and mountain bikes with rims up to 700c/29". The pads are the best I've found for stopping power with clearance issues, and these large pads offer about 30% better stopping power compared to Koolstop (Black and Salmon) Double Compound Small Size 1-1/2" Dura-Ace .Insoles which were a slight improvement over all the gray KoolStop insoles, honestly I should have started with the big boys here, all salmon colored pads.Mountain bike rims get covered in mud a little faster than Shimano XT inserts.Any problems ?: I've had a few cases where it was difficult to stop the front rim from squeaking, but I think the problem was that the rim was contaminated with solvents or degreasers.. It may take some patience to get it perfectly true - easiest if you tighten them first and then tighten the lever or cable a little, center it, face forward, then hold the pad and fully tighten iehen - others may have even better methods. .Verdict: Saved the life story of a family member coming down a wet hill. His head landed 4 inches from a car tire - those 4 inches were a good buy at $25 a set.
