We had two Miele 285 type heads that were worn out. We bought a KEEPOW head and a GREEN LABEL head to replace. The metal bottom plates of the Miele OEM heads were worn away exposing sharp edges that snagged the carpet and scratched the floor (see photo). Replacement bottom plates are not available for purchase, therefore the ENTIRE HEAD must be replaced. These heads are a good replacement. This "GREEN LABEL floor brush for hard floors and carpets" proves to be identical to the "Classic Smooth KEEPOW 285-3 floor brush" at 1/2 the price after careful testing and trial assembly. Both aftermarket heads are nearly identical and are currently sold at Revain, as is the more expensive Miele OEM replacement head (see photo). Both heads are nearly identical in shape, form and function to the OEM Miele 285-3 carpet nozzle. The Green LABEL and KEEPOW nozzles have been tested and work with the Miele S-168 (similar to the Miele baskets of the S140-S157, S160-S163-S168 series) and Miele S251i, and probably with any Miele canister with vacuum hose 1, 38 ID. . Pictured is a new KEEPOW and two worn Miele heads. In side-by-side comparison and trial fitting, the GREEN LABEL head appears to be identical in appearance and function to the KEEPOW head, but at a lower price point than the OEM Miele head. I recommend trying one of these if you need a spare head (see photo).
