Review on RETROFLAG Raspberry Splitter Heatsinks Controllers by Kelz Dixon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far so good

I've had this case for a few months now. really enjoy it Installing the Pi is effortless. A few spots where the internal wires are a little tight, but still manageable. I haven't had any major problems with it so far. For now I've only used it for basic emulation and wasn't worried about heat. The reason I couldn't give this 5 stars is because the case, maybe the fan/heat sync position, isn't working. Seems to prevent me from using wifi or bluetooth. I had a spare nano wifi adapter and am able to use it. However, I couldn't use my Bluetooth keyboard as intended. Since I'm primarily using this for emulation and don't currently need the wireless options, this wasn't an issue for me, but might be for others. The script for the power/reset buttons is a nice touch if you're going for that classic NES feel. However, this is not necessary for full use of the system. Without the script, the buttons will still work. They simply don't talk to the operating system and cause a safe shutdown before the power is turned off. It's no big deal or loss if you don't want to install the script on your operating system. Pros: Small, surprisingly nostalgic, works really well for just about anything, and it comes with just about everything you could possibly need. Note: A little tight with one or two inner wires when installed, but manageable. If necessary, it is easy to open a backup copy. Cons: The case seems to block WiFi/Bluetooth which could be an issue depending on usage. No need to run emulation or use USB controllers. Will be updated if anything changes in the near future.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Some bugs
