I used this to finish off a coffee table top that I made. The table is industrial in style with a vintage look. The table's frame and drawers are steel and the table top is 100 year old barn oak paneling. The top is lightly hand sanded but has plenty of "character" and open grain. I wanted to make something extremely durable that would look better the more it was used. Now I applied it without a Japanese blow dryer because I wanted the top to be STRONG! The scent took weeks to dry and months to dissipate, but the end result was worth it. No coasters are required as this material is highly absorbent and will not allow water to penetrate. I applied 3 coats and just waited. and waited. No water rings and none of the many spills the summit has seen. You can still feel every fiber in the wood because it just went deep. For my application, it exceeded my expectations. The table is already 4 years old and not a single problem with the processing.
