Review on πŸ“ Enhanced Dimensional Accuracy of OVERTURE Filament Consumables by Luke Hodes

You never know what you're gonna get. Unless it's clear

I bought two rolls at a time to try. The first roll was smooth as glass, really transparent, fairly flexible and resilient. Clearly printed and adhered so well to my PEI bed that I had to apply a coat of Windex first so I could remove the large pieces without damage. The diameter was very constant. The second bun was milky, rough, hard and brittle. It printed just as well as the first, except it stretched due to the roughness and this affected print quality when the flow rate was reduced due to increased friction in the feed system (reverse bowden cable). Also, the diameter was wrong. I had volume deviations of over 15%. I will be buying a few more but deducting a star due to inconsistent thread quality. Problem. It stays at the high end of the acceptable range (1.78 x 1.83 avg: 1.8) and doesn't print as cleanly. Even when adjusting the flow rate to a larger diameter. So gray is iffy, but the only pure gray I've ever had is Prousament. Transparency is amazing now. Excellent in every way (except blocking UV rays from the inside). The black and white colors are good enough, I think you can't go wrong by choosing this brand in this color.

Pros
  • Economical and wide compatibility
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
