Review on Fill Rite FR1210G Transfer Discharge Suction by Leonard Herrera

Revainrating 2 out of 5

If the pump does not deliver fuel, CHECK THE 12 VOLT POLARITY!

Bought for 275 gallon off road diesel thanks. Assembled and connected red to + and black to - as instructed in the instructions. The pump worked but did not fill with fuel. The diesel level in the tank is 2-3 inches below the pump and the suction pipe is fully lowered 10 inches from the bottom of the tank. As I put my hand on the outlet, I noticed that it was SUCKING, NOT PRESSURE! The leads from the motor winding to the junction box are routed the wrong way around (black + and red -). As soon as I swapped the wires, the pump started working. Also, if you are adding a downstream fuel filter, make sure you install it in the correct flow direction. For correct installation, it must have an arrow or inscription (input / output). Qualitatively, the pump is certainly an all-metal device that runs loud but works great when it's running. I can see that the Flow-Rite emblem is attached to a metal casting rather than cast in metal, leading me to believe the parts used are generic and labeled post-manufacture. Turning the screws on the body to mount or opening the pump body will easily remove the paint. They definitely need to up their game on anti-rust paint! The hose that comes with it is 14 feet long, long enough to fill up next to my tank, but the quality isn't what I expected. The hose can be kinked or easily crushed - you don't see that at a gas station. I'll be using it for now but replacing it with a stronger, more reliable hose. The Artic pen is good, but note that the auto-fill lever, which has two flow start points, e.g. a gas station (slow fill and full open fill) will not automatically fill full flow until pressure is applied to the handle. It snaps at the second slow fill point right out of the box. I assume it's ok. I almost sent it back as defective until I realized it needs to be pressurized to work properly. 2 to keep your seat on the call and get a call back when the next agent is available in two days. Still doesn't call back. I call again and they tell me I'm still there. HAPPY SPEED I hope you don't need any help or anything by calling them. I'm just glad I got my pump problem resolved. 4 of them as it has the "looks" of a well built device. Especially at a price of around $500. price target.
