This is the 3rd desktop ice maker I've owned and it's the best (yet). It is larger than the previous one, which is likely to be made in the same factory. Same look and color, just bigger. Works very well so far and is much quieter than the smaller ones. Makes good ice cream fast and easily handles a busy family. I recommend this machine to anyone who has family or guests who use a lot of ice or who has people who abuse ice drinks. I usually leave it on all day and turn it off at night. Ice keeps the night good. So far this is a winner. UPDATE: The ice machine stopped working this morning. I turn it off at night and when I tried to turn it on this morning the light on the dashboard came on briefly and then went off and the unit wouldn't turn on. Unplugged it for about an hour and tried again. The same thing. I called support and spoke to a very nice person who said I was describing a power management board failure. She said she would send out a new board immediately and it would be "very easy" to replace and instructions would be included. This seems to be a common problem as she had a very good idea of how to fix it and she had spare parts on hand along with instructions. I was very happy with the ice cream maker until I switched it on. Makes a lot of ice, is not very noisy and looks good. I'm curious how "easy" replacing the control unit will be.
