I bought the recorder in August 2006. I also bought some Verbatim CD-Rs with music/data from Sam. The recorder recognized the CD-R without any problems. These CDs can be used for both data and music. I made over 100 records with these CDs. I had trouble with error messages and sometimes I had to use 3 or 4 CDs to make a good LP copy. The error messages appeared while the car was warming up - after burning two CDs. The error messages were either C14/TOC error (Could not read or cannot complete TOC after the burn process was complete. Also, error C13 - Failed due to vibration or dirty disc - Error message was invalid because no vibration or dirty disc I have switched to Maxell CD-R music CDs I've burned over 15 of these CDs with no problems - no error messages Some people who have trouble with error messages may have CD compatibility issues the recorder works as it should it's a great machine with great results machine (digital or analogue) or a real cd-r in the car the recorder doesn't recognize the input machine could be better recorded music is as good or better than LP.
