I used this to cut 0.8mm SPCC steel on the front of a PC case and it worked. Slowly but surely. I wouldn't expect it to cut through anything much more serious, and I wouldn't expect to use it for multiple jobs. I got it for a project and didn't expect it to last much longer. It faded a bit but still cut through the steel. The locking mechanism to connect the hole saw and mandrel is not always seen at this price point and that was important.
