I bought this specifically for a trip to South Africa and it WILL NOT FIT sockets! The three prongs are the right shape but the wrong proportions, so they're practically useless for this country! I had to buy a DIFFERENT adapter upon arrival. Two pins *might* fit, but the norm here is a hexagonal shape with countersunk plug holes. Therefore, the round shape of the converter plug does not stay in the socket. Since I received the adapter, I have to say that the converter really works perfectly. But there are some much cheaper options if you don't need South Africa. If you REALLY need South Africa, you can buy a cheaper converter and separate adapter for this price!
