Review on ๐Ÿค– Roborock S6 Robot Vacuum - Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop with Adaptive Routing, Multi-Floor Mapping, Selective Room Cleaning, Powerful Suction, Extended Battery Life - Alexa Compatible (Black) by Tammy Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small improvements make it a worthy successor to the already excellent S5

App: The Roborock app has been significantly improved over the Mi Home app. The Mi Home app is designed for home automation and has many structures irrelevant to using a vacuum cleaner that just gets in the way. The Roborock app only focuses on vacuum performance and optimization, resulting in much less lag, significantly better maps, and an overall more responsive and intuitive user interface. One of the great features of the S6 is the ability to tell the robot to clean a specific room instead of you having to manually draw a cleaning area like the S5 does. This means I can have the robot clean my carpet and entryway every day, but leave the rest of the floor on schedule every other day. Multi-layer ground support: S5 can be moved to another floor, but all non-zones are deleted from the previous floor, which is annoying. S6 supports saving 3 maps. The best improvement of this feature is that the S6 can be moved to another floor and when returning to the base it will restore the previous map and restricted areas. This works great for me as there are no restricted zones on my second floor. Noise level: The S6 is noticeably quieter on carpet, noticeably quieter on hard floors. Running the S5 in balanced mode requires you to raise your voice while the robot is running. S6 requires no changes to a normal conversation. It seems like most of the reduced noise is coming from the drive wheels and not the turbine, it just runs quieter. If I only had the S5 I wouldn't call it loud, but really didn't want it to work while on the same floor. The S6 is just quiet enough not to get annoyed if it walks alongside you. Navigation: The S6 seems to find its dock and identify its surroundings a bit quicker than the S5. The same left side rendering process is used to create the edges of the map. My S5 got stuck under the dresser at least 75% of the time I went upstairs. The S6 seems to have a better understanding of what it can erase and what is yet to get stuck. Cleaning time: On the ground floor of S5, it took about 72 minutes on average to clean 63 mยฒ. m, while the S6 was able to clean the same area in 68 minutes, reducing cleaning time by 5%. Zone cleaning seems to increase the time a bit as the robot follows the given zone lines which probably increases the cleaning time. Overall, I think the S6 is a nice improvement over the already excellent S5, but it could do better with an improved multi-floor "no traffic" feature.
