This is the mount you need. Yes, that's a few dollars more than some other mounts, but you've probably just spent $500 to several thousand dollars on your TV. So why try to save $20 on a cheap mount? This is the best mount I've ever seen. It is incredibly well made and moves my 70" Sony XBR with ease. It was very easy to install - took maybe 30 minutes - TAKE IT SLOW. Do not drill directly into the studs, the mount is useless as it is designed like that well done is that the mount (especially with a tv on it) just pops out of the drywall I've found this can help you in your purchasing decision: - The way they put everything together is great and makes the process easier For the larger TV, I strongly recommend that you have 2 people. But if you have a 40" TV. or under, you should be able to do it yourself. You attach the two parts of the bracket to the back of the TV. It gives you some different sized screws so you have the right screws for the holes on the back of your tv, my tv had screws in the holes, ab he not all televisions have them. So they give you multiple sizes so you can properly fit the 2 parts of the mount together. Then mount the wall bracket. It will take some patience and measurement to make sure you drill right down the center of the studs, but once you've done that you're done. You pick up the TV and slide the bracket parts onto the mounting bars and the TV is there. Then use the mount brackets to make sure it is fully attached to the mount. One thing to note - it's "there" even before you attach the brackets. But you should definitely attach the brackets because there is a chance that over time the TV will detach from the bracket if you move it backwards and into the fourth place of the bracket if you don't use the brackets. However, you don't have to worry about holding the TV on the bracket and attaching the bracket fasteners at the same time. The TV rests on the bracket and then put it on to make sure it doesn't fall. Numerous holes in the base where you put the huge bolts/screws that go into the cleats - these are positioned so that on the outside if your cleats aren't perfectly 16 inches apart (the norm) you're still fine. For some reason one of me was more of a 15 than a 16. No problem. Again, make sure you drill directly into the bolt. The screws they give you are very big and you need a real drill. I can screw them I can't remember what size it was but it tells you instructions - The instructions were pretty good and easy to follow It really isn't that hard but it's nice to have instructions and I would suggest reading the whole thing first rather than just trying without reading it.- The 'features' and 'ease of use' of this mount are phenomenal. As I mentioned earlier, it's very well made, but pulling it out or putting it back in, tilting it, moving it, it's all very easy, but it still stays in place. It won't just move or lean randomly for no reason. I listen to very loud music and movies and the bass never makes it shake, pitch or move. This is the best mount I've ever seen. Bottom Line: Buy this mount if you're looking for a way to mount your favorite TV on the wall. This is the best mount I have ever seen and gives me peace of mind that while it "hangs on the wall" my multi-thousand dollar investment is stronger and more secure than ever.
