Can't comment on the size as I buy it bigger than my litter box as my cats mess with EVERYTHING. Now when they pull on the lining, they cannot pull it back far enough to separate it from the box. I agree that the lining is quite thin. To be honest my cats all have claws and I don't trim them much so they have little needles of death. I expected them to break through. I actually use two earbuds at a time, so the first catches them with claws and the second catches spills. They only go through a second litter if I just add more litter instead of completely changing litter and litter after 7-10 days. Given the size and price, I don't mind using two at the same time. Also, they come with ties. No tip. You have a little piece of paper with these paper covered strings. I don't use these things so I keep them for storing spare chargers and such. I just tie the bags shut and put them in a bin liner with the rest of my trash for a week. I've been using these pads for over a year and a half now. I have no problem with them.
