I recently bought one of these arc lighters and I love it! It's great for candles, but being only 7 inches long makes it uncomfortably close to the hand when using it with our gas fireplace. On this model, the ignition head is about 3-4 inches farther from my hand, which is comparable to the old butane lighters. we are used to using it. It also has a rounded rectangular shape, which I find to be more comfortable on my hand, and the integrated hanger at the end makes it very convenient to hang up if you prefer to keep it in a drawer. The head is on a flexible mount. So it can be positioned to work anywhere, but note that the head is slightly larger than the flame head of a butane lighter and may not fit through smaller ignition holes. I've found that when lighting candles, the head can get very sooty, but it wipes off easily. It is charged via the micro USB port on the side. They include a 6-inch micro USB charging cable, but you can use any cable you like. My devices were 50-75% charged and it took about 20 minutes to charge. I haven't had these things long enough to determine battery life, but I expect they will last quite a while as most lithium battery devices do.
