Review on 🚲 Allen Sports Hitch Racks for 2-Inch Hitch - 4-Bike Capacity by Mark Howard

I have owned this shelf since September 2015 and have enjoyed using it for almost 2 years. Recently, however, the quick release pin has rusted and broken. This isn't a major issue for the stand's function, but is crucial to keeping it upright. So I contacted Allen Sport and they told me that this $6.50 part is not covered by their lifetime warranty. As you can imagine I was very surprised that a key component was not covered and I had to purchase a replacement item. Even the warranty literature isn't clear that this isn't covered. I never got the name of the customer service rep who was quick to reply to my messages, so I can't tell if this is a misunderstanding on the part of the rep or the company as a whole. I never received a follow-up message confirming the lack of support. Overall I think it's good value for money but I wouldn't rely on the company to endorse their products if anything else happened to them or their bikes. If you have concerns about this rack I recommend doing more research on other companies that offer the same product but have better product support.
