Rain, wind and cold test

I bought this tent before hiking the Great Lakes (Michigan and Ontario to be exact) in late April/early Man which was either cold Nights in the low 30's meant years, gale force winds or steady rain. I'm happy to report that the tent withstood all of these conditions. It never leaked even though it rained all night. And the frame survived two nights in insanely strong winds - I was sure it would at least sag or the pegs would disappear. It was a good windbreak too - it was quite cold but I had no problems with a good sleeping bag. I would also like to add that sleeping 2 people in this tent would be very difficult. - He's small inside. I used it with a one person air mattress and it was a bit cramped. So I'd say it's a good idea to go one size larger than the number of people you plan to fit in it. The structure was also very light and could be quickly assembled and disassembled. It's also very easy to dry by simply removing the rain cover. The only 2 small issues I had was that the instructions weren't very clear as to which straps go where on the tent and that you would need an extra bag to carry all the pieces together - there are 4 separate bags and they don't fit in one unit, so you have to be careful when packing.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
