Rain, wind and cold test

I bought this tent before hiking the Great Lakes (Michigan and Ontario to be exact) in late April/early Man which was either cold Nights in the low 30's meant years, gale force winds or steady rain. I'm happy to report that the tent withstood all of these conditions. It never leaked even though it rained all night. And the frame survived two nights in insanely strong winds - I was sure it would at least sag or the pegs would disappear. It was a good windbreak too - it was quite cold but I had…

VERY light tent with minimal criticism

I used this tent on a camping trip last weekend. I bought it specifically for its lightness and because it is listed as a 4 season tent. I have provided photos for reference with the pros and cons listed below. Pros: - Reasonably priced compared to the competition - Extremely light (entire tent system weighs 3.8lbs) - Reliable installation (all poles are connected and there is only one way to connect them). fits on a tent) - high quality material (lightweight aluminum poles, long cords and…

GREAT ULTRALIGHT TENT FOR THE MONEY

Are you looking for an ultralight camping tent without spending a lot of money? Try this tent. The complete set (rain cover, ground cover, stakes, etc.) adds up to a total package weight of 3.9 lbs. Installation is quick and easy, the tent is durable and doesn't leak. I set up my tent during a heavy downpour accompanied by strong gusts of wind. Not a single tear or sign of looseness at the seams. The ventilation is kept open with a small metal rod that is wrapped in fabric to optimally keep the

Great budget camping tent

I only stayed in it one night but was very impressed with the value of this tent! - good headroom - sophisticated clip system to hold everything together. Cons - a bit noisy in the wind if not well pitched - tent only for two people if you are a couple / very comfortable with one other person - poor quality prices included. With a simple tent break, set up was really easy; I was gassed after the hike but had no trouble setting up and taking down the tent. Two stakes broke trying to drive them…

great price and quality!

I bought this (red and gray for 2 people) for solo hikes rather than lugging around my amazing and comfy REI Half Dome due to the almost 2.5lb weight difference. Just spent my first night in it and the temperature dropped to the mid 30s Fahrenheit, there was only light rain (in the desert so no chance to look for condensation) and there was about 30mph winds gusting in excess of 45 Miles per hour and the tent was usually secured with 9 of the 11 pegs provided and was very strong. In the image…

Very good - probably the best for the price.

This tent is excellent although I had to fight between 4 and 5 stars. In the end I chose 5 because. It's so cheap in price that it's hard to complain. First of all, it weighs 4.7 pounds with EVERYTHING including all stakes, sacks and floor space. You could probably save a maximum of 2 or 3 ounces by swapping courses, but that's about it. To make a 2 man tent lighter you will need trekking poles. Other lightweight tents in this price range advertise less weight than this but that is misleading…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

  • No cannon
