Inaccurate product description.
Nothing in the item's description or specifications indicates that it needs to be connected to both a PS3 and an AC power source. It only charges when the PS3 is powered on and actually has 4 USB ports instead of 5. It works and I use it but was disappointed that it doesn't run on AC only.
