This conical grinding disc is very quiet. I especially like that the coffee hopper that collects the ground coffee is static free. Overall the grinder works well; although my main issue with this grinder is that the grind size setting (from 0 to 12 cups) is far from accurate. In my experience, a 12-cup setting yields about four tablespoons of coffee grounds, which is what I typically use to brew two cups of coffee. It was a trial and error process using the grind adjustment to adjust the setting reasonably "by eye" to get the right amount of ground coffee to use in my four-cup coffee maker.
