Well, after a long research I have to say that the gold filter is the right one. I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro with no Retina display, so I went that route. The size of the filter matches *perfectly* the actual size of the display (e.g. it covers all possible pixels on the display and doesn't cover black). borders). I chose to use the included plastic slide tabs so I can easily remove the filter without fiddling with the reusable glue tabs. First put the filter on the display and make sure everything is even around the seams. Attach the plastic tabs when the filter was on so I can make sure they are installed correctly. However, the plastic tabs themselves aren't high enough above the display to slide the filter in and out. So I improvised and used clear double sided tape. Line up the edge of the double-sided tape with the adhesive on the plastic tab, then fold it back over. Aesthetics is probably not your primary concern if you're looking for g in any of these. I will say that the display brightness has decreased a bit, so I have high brightness which can affect battery life. In addition, there is now some "blurr" in the picture. It was expected.
