Review on Second Skin Butyl Sealant Tape by Eldrick Carlton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for installing a third brake light AND tires!

Bought to install and seal the third brake light with high bracket on Toyota 86, everything worked fine. The kit included a 3-meter car duct tape that worked until the sun melted it. It also lacked a seal to prevent light from entering through the rear window. This stuff works like industrial dumb putty, very easy to apply but I'm not even sure I can remove it if I want to. Great product and I have plenty of money left over for other projects. Very beautiful. UPDATE 01/21/2019: It looks like this stuff can also be used to patch a tire in an emergency. I was driving to work and hit a nail without realizing it until I went to lunch and saw my tire was flat. Luckily I still had this material from my original project in the trunk so I cut off about two to three inches, flattened it out in my hand and glued it to the hole after removing the nail. Then I cut a piece of fabric about the same size and tape it over it so it doesn't stick too much to the road. Then I patched the car and inflated the tire to specification using a portable air compressor I borrowed from a colleague. It deflates after every ride, but holds air in the tire long enough to drive home or to the shop for replacement. It's not the best option or intended use, but it works as a last resort for flat tires.
