Description of Second Skin Butyl Sealant Tape

Damplifier Butyl Sealant Tape is a premium grade, sound deadening material and butyl rubber sealant tape that is pliable, sticky, and tough enough for any project. This butyl glazing tape belongs in your tool box. Waterproof, chemical resistant, temperature resistant to 200 F, very pliable to flatten or stretch – our customers prefer it over glue or other sealant tapes. At 1/2” wide and 1/4" thick it can fill thicker gaps, but flexible to flatten it out as thin as you want. Just make sure you clean any area before applying. Ideal for adhesion to metal, wood, glass, and masonry. Used to create a seal or deaden sound on all types of vehicles (Cars, RVs, Boats) and around the house (windows, screen doors, sky lights, vents). It sticky to deaden sound and create a watertight seal, making it an excellent window weld. It also re-attaches vapor barriers, mounts subs to sub woofer boxes, and is the perfect taillight and headlight sealant. – we get a call once a week with a new use!. Proudly made in the USA.

A must for DIYers and hobbyists

If you're interested in car audio then you probably already have a roll of them, but if not, buy them now. Versatile in use, also outside of the car audio system. Once you have this material, you'll start thinking about how many ways you can use it. I used it to loosen the speaker adapter bracket in my truck door. The adapters I made from a plastic cutting board then used that material as a "spacer" between it and the door. Worked great. I still used nuts/bolts to secure it, but as sticky as…

Looks like the original sealant on my headlight.

Sticky and not very easy to use, but the original seal in my Volvo V50 headlight was a similar black sticky rubber material. The original material was a little less sticky, but that might be because it's 15 years old. Pain deleting old stuff, but deleting as best I can. Apply a new rubber seal, put the headlight cover back onto the base and press down firmly enough to replace the clips. I warmed it up with a hair dryer and it helped. It takes time and patience, but finally everything is fine…

Perfect for installing a third brake light AND tires!

Bought to install and seal the third brake light with high bracket on Toyota 86, everything worked fine. The kit included a 3-meter car duct tape that worked until the sun melted it. It also lacked a seal to prevent light from entering through the rear window. This stuff works like industrial dumb putty, very easy to apply but I'm not even sure I can remove it if I want to. Great product and I have plenty of money left over for other projects. Very beautiful. UPDATE 01/21/2019: It looks like…
