My son received a set of knives and asked what I do to keep the blades sharp. I bought this as a gift for him. I've had one for about 3 years and I think it's GREAT! Just a few pulls to keep the blade sharp. I have to use this after about every third use of quality steel knives. You will not regret this purchase. 15 years scout champion. I always like it when my blades are sharp. CONS: My son reported that he vibrates when he uses it. It has a combination of brown and white stone. Mine is older - off-white stones. My gray and white stone unit is flawless. I also read the same complaint about the vibration of the diamond version of this sharpener. I don't need anything faster than that. It suits my needs.)
