Cute but charts need a little tweaking

I love amigurumi knitting and am always looking for new patterns. I would say that as a knitter I'm at the top of the intermediate level. This book can be used, just don't follow the directions as written. every book about knitting. What sets this book apart is the requirement for circular knitting needles. Forget her. I bought a set specifically for this book and used it once to hold my pattern stitches. Double point needles are what you need. The beauty of the book is that it uses the same size and mostly worsted yarn for each pattern. The first pattern I followed was for a spider. This gets you some serious wrapping and turning practice, especially the 8 legs (which can't be tucked in after sewing the pipe cleaners, and I recommend sewing the legs around the pipe cleaners). However, in knitting the cephalothorax, the wrapping and everting fell apart and one half was wider than the other. It was round in shape, but I had large holes that then had to be sewn up. I still haven't figured out how to repeat the pattern so the wrap and turn rows are balanced. For the color knitting patterns in the book, I'm going to talk about jellyfish. The stripes on the side should curl up, but the color chart sometimes requires you to knit stitches that aren't there. The key should have been changed to a plain m1 midway, not k1m1. Similar problems would be expected with such complex knit fabrics, but could easily be corrected with pre-release verification. Still, problem-solving is pretty fun, and aren't crooked spiders just as cute as normal ones?
