Like many other reviewers here, I found the major downside to this machine is when you try to pour water . Basically you have to push the lid a little further than it looks and it's difficult to fully tilt the carafe in this small space. The water eventually runs down the side of the carafe which needs to be wiped down before you put it on the stove and sometimes you accidentally spill water in the filter basket which then spills all over the stove. Other than that the coffee is excellent and the car is great. This ultra blue clock is very modern and bright. The coffee maker itself is large and a real eye catcher, looks great on the kitchen table. Oh, one more con: if you're only brewing 4 cups or so, like me, you might find that the cone filters sometimes collapse during the brewing process, resulting in a very soft, watery coffee that then needs to be reheated. Being left behind. This has happened to me a few times and it's a shame when you use more expensive ground coffees. However, I will continue to use this coffee maker until it stops working. It takes a little extra effort on my part to pour the water properly and try to prime the cone filters so they don't wrinkle, but when it's done right it's SO good. Definitely the best coffee maker I've ever had, even with its flaws, and I've had plenty of them.
